Committee Info

The success of Highgate relies on parent involvement.   One of the most valuable ways of contributing to the centre is to join the Committee of Management or a Sub-Committee.  The Committee of Management oversees the work and activities of the Centre including finance, operations, HR and organises social activities.   The Committee of Management roles are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary/Public Officer and eight General Members all of which are elected at the AGM annually.

The Committee is responsible for:

  • Assisting the Centre Director to ensure the smooth running of the Centre
  • Ensuring that the Centre is run cost effectively without compromising the quality of the service
  • Approving capital expenditure proposals
  • Being accountable to relevant Government authorities
  • Overseeing the finances of the Centre, under the guidance of the treasurer
  • Preparing the budget and managing Centre accounts for both the Centre and the relevant Government authorities
  • Ensuring that the Centre Mission Statement, Philosophy, Objectives and Goals are achieved

On occasions, we form Sub-Committees to address particular areas of work that may need additional assistance and focus to ensure our mission, goals and objectives are achieved. Parental involvement is paramount to the success of these initiatives and is greatly appreciated.
